Steve Neale's Theory

 

Steve Neale is a British analytic philosopherwho has written detailed explanations about meaning, information, interpretation and commuication for linguistics. Neale accumulated theories that explain his opinion on how genre is classed and represented, and has stated "Genres are instances of repetition and difference". He believes that genre is used to separate a piece of text or conventions, as there would be 'no pleasure without difference'.
