Alastair Fowler's Theory

Alastair Fowler is a Scottish literary critic and editor who has his own theory on how genre is classified. Fowler's theory explains that there are existing subgenres that 'we still have no name'. His theory means that we still have unknown names for subgenres that have not yet been used, as the genres can be expanded or grouped together to create more specific and diverse subgenres to classify texts or conventions in even more detail.
