Claude Levi Strauss' Theory

 

Claude Levi Strauss was a French anthropologist and ethnologist, who has accumulated a theory that 'All texts are driven by opposites'. He studied hundreds of myths and legends all over the world and created a theory that explained that as humans, we use binary opposites to make sense of the world, people and events. His theory explains that the way we understand does not depend on the direct meaning, but about the understanding of the difference between its opposite, or also known as the binary opposite.
