After we created the storyboard for our music video, we then decided to create an animatic in Sony Vegas Pro 11. The animatic is created to show each frame of the storyboard put together with the music track, to determine the duration of the frames and what sequence the frames will be in. We also decided to incorporate some editing techniques that we are planning on using, including fades to white and black, colour filters and disolves. We successfully completed the animatic and we now know what footage we need to collect whilst filming, where the footage is going to be placed and also how the footage will be timed with the song. The benefits of using an animatic is for us to clearly understand how our music video will be assembled and will determine what frames we should use, and what each frame will look like once played along with the track.
