Roland Barthes' Theory

Roland Barthes was a French literary theorist, philosopher and critic, and was well known for his narrative theories. Barthes had accumulated a theory, that text is described as "a galaxy of signifiers, not a structure". What he means by this is that text is like a ball of threads, and when unravelled can show a wide range of potential meanings. As we continue to unravell the text from a different angle, we can create an entirely different meaning.
